Specifically designed for marine use, the HX370S is factory programmed with all U.S., Canadian, and international marine channels, keeping you fully informed of all the latest oceanic activity. At the same time, the radio offers a host of weather channels from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA), so you can learn about approaching storms or hurricanes well before they hit.
Land Mobile Radio
If the channels above aren't enough, the HX370s is also compatible with up to 40 commercial Land Mobile Radio (LMR) channels with CTCSS or DCS signaling, though a Standard Horizon dealer will need to program the channels (and users are responsible for obtaining the appropriate FCC license).
Waterproof Construction
As with any well-built marine radio, the HX370S is rugged and fully waterproof, with a compact design that can withstand submersion in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
Easy to Use
It's a breeze to browse through the channels using the scan function, either without priority (starting from lowest to highest) or while monitoring emergency channels 16 and 9 and the NOAA weather alert, which warns you of inclement conditions. Other operational details include a Preset key that easily recalls your eight most-used channels, an oversized LCD with channel names, and a high-intensity strobe light that emits the internally recognized S.O.S. signal during emergencies--a must for any boater. The S.O.S. beacon can be seen from up to 1 mile away.
Stay Charged
When you're not using the 5-watt radio, simply drop it in the included charging cradle, which will keep the rechargeable NiMH battery operating at full capacity (the radio lasts for roughly 18 hours per charge). Also included is a waterproof alkaline battery tray, a 12-volt charger, and an AC charger. And because dead batteries can be a serious safety hazard on the water, the HX370S sports a battery life indicator on the LCD that warns you when the battery needs charging.
Also compatible with optional speaker microphones, headsets, and voice scramblers, the HX370S radio measures 2.3 by 3.7 by 1.2 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a three-year warranty.

Great radio for maritime use and amateur comms near water. : Standard Horizon STD-HX370S VHF Marine Radio
I purchased this transceiver two years ago to replace an older horizon that I was happy with but that had experienced battery problems. This radio does everything well: audio quality is good, programming is straightforward, and the controls are intuitive. I routinely submerge the unit - I seakayak with it on my Pfd and roll with it on in surf. Battery life is very good with both rechargeables and Aa's. I've even used the Led flasher to signal friends (ok, it was a bit geeky, but it worked!)
I am extremely happy with this unit and have no plans to replace it anytime soon.
